What It Smells Like

Midnight Marquee opens with a striking combination of gasoline, crisp autumn air, dried leaves and raw tobacco. The gasoline accord is particularly noticeable at first, giving the fragrance an oily, petroleum-like edge that can be challenging on initial application. Reviews vary, with some experiencing more gasoline while others find leather more prominent.

As it settles, supple leather and black musk move forward, joined by earthy soil, aged patchouli and moss. The sharpness of the opening becomes smoother and darker, creating the impression of worn leather, damp earth and a late-night drive through cool autumn air.

The dry down introduces a restrained sweetness from vanilla musk, softening the leather, tobacco and earthy notes without turning the fragrance into a conventional gourmand.
