What It Smells Like
Ponderosa opens with a strikingly realistic impression of pine needles and fresh ponderosa resin. The coniferous character is prominent from the beginning, with a dry, woody sharpness softened by the natural sweetness of the pine. Cinnamon adds a subtle spicy warmth, while strawberry provides a faint fruity accent rather than turning the opening into a conventional fruity fragrance.
As it develops, the resin becomes richer and warmer. Cedarwood reinforces the dry, woody character, while beeswax and butterscotch bring out the sweeter facets of the composition. This is where Ponderosa's unusual balance becomes most apparent: the fragrance smells distinctly like a pine forest, but with a creamy, caramelised sweetness running through the resin.
