Impassable Wilderness opens with a dense combination of grand fir and Scotch pine, creating an immediate impression of walking into a deep evergreen forest. The conifer character is central to the fragrance, with the composition designed to evoke the dark, overgrown forests of the Pacific Northwest rather than a bright or traditionally fresh pine scent.
As it develops, resurrection fern, red cedar and oakmoss add layers of green vegetation, dry wood and damp forest floor. The fern and moss give the fragrance a darker, more overgrown quality, while cedar adds a drier woody dimension beneath the conifers.
