What It Smells Like

Gettone opens with an unusual combination of damp, earthy decay and cold metallic character. Benzoin, patchouli and vetiver provide a dark, resinous and rooty foundation, while the mildew accord introduces a distinctly damp, enclosed quality. The effect is less like a conventional perfume and more like entering an old space where metal, dust and moisture have accumulated over time. As it develops, birch tar and leather move forward. The birch tar brings smoky, phenolic and almost burnt facets, while leather adds a darker, worn material quality.
