What It Smells Like
Salomé opens with dark, ripe fruit wrapped in bitter orange and lush magnolia. Black grape and plum give the opening a rich, almost wine-like quality, while the green facets of violet leaf and Queen of the Night keep the fruit from becoming simply sweet. Some wearers experience the opening as particularly floral and green, while others find the grape and plum immediately prominent.
As it develops, cognac begins to emerge, giving the fruit and florals a distinctly boozy warmth. Magnolia and orange blossom remain present, while the darker botanical elements and woods start to give the fragrance more depth. On some skin, the cognac and plum create a soft, almost wine-like impression.
In the drydown, bourbon vanilla and tonka bean soften the composition, while sandalwood, cedar, vetiver and red oud create a darker woody foundation. The fruit becomes less overtly juicy and the fragrance settles into a warm, smooth combination of vanilla, woods and lingering boozy plum.
Overall, the fragrance feels dark, lush and mysterious, combining bruised fruit and magnolia with cognac, creamy vanilla and deep woods.
