Hyrax by Zoologist is a raw, sun-scorched animalic — primal, dusty, and hauntingly beautiful. It opens on a heated stone accord, where Elemi, Pink Pepper, and Saffron crackle against the skin, sharpened by the unexpected elegance of Turkish Rose. As the heat intensifies, the heart reveals the perfume’s wild core: African Stone (hyraceum), smoky and mineral, entwined with Whiskey, Styrax, and Hyacinth, evoking ancient rock, dry vegetation, and musky fur warmed by the African sun. In the drydown, a dense, resinous base of Amber, Benzoin, Patchouli, Sandalwood, and Tonka is deepened by Castoreum and Civet, creating a powerful, animalic trail that feels both untamed and hypnotically refined.
