What It Smells Like
Nocturnal Tuberose opens with a bright, slightly green and peppery burst. Neroli brings a fresh citrus-floral quality, while Sichuan pepper gives the opening a subtle spicy tingle. The effect is greener and sharper than the creamy floral heart that follows.
As it develops, tuberose becomes the star of the composition. It is creamy, lush and almost milky, surrounded by layers of jasmine, ylang-ylang, gardenia, rose and orange blossom. The orange blossom adds a lightly honeyed brightness, while the gardenia contributes a soft green quality that prevents the white florals from becoming completely dense or sweet.
In the dry down, the floral intensity becomes warmer and more grounded. Ambrette seed gives a soft, skin-like quality, while vetiver and cistus add earthy, green and resinous depth beneath the remaining tuberose. The result is still unmistakably floral, but with a warmer and more naturalistic character.
Overall, the fragrance feels like a lush white-flower garden after dark, creamy tuberose illuminated by honeyed orange blossom, soft green gardenia and jasmine, with pepper, vetiver and cistus adding contrast and depth. It is deliberately sensual and atmospheric rather than a light, airy floral.
