We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase, so we’ve created a straightforward return and exchange policy. Please read the following guidelines carefully:


30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Return Policy:

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all our products. During this period, you may return items that are unused and undamaged for a refund. Refunds will be issued for the cost of the products, excluding delivery charges and a 20% restocking fee. A restocking fee of 20% may apply for non-defective returns, excluding those related to delivery errors or damaged items.

Please note: We do not accept returns for changed minds, misreading the description, or simply not liking the perfume. Refunds are only available for unused and undamaged items within the 30-day period, subject to the restocking fee.


Returns Process

To return an item, please contact us within 48 days of receiving your order. The item must be unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging. Refunds will not be issued for opened, used, or altered products. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect. As our store operates as a sampling service, we offer smaller quantities of fragrance to help you try before committing to a full purchase. If you're unsure about a product, we suggest opting for the smallest available size when placing your order.


Damaged or Defective Products

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please inspect your order immediately upon reception. Contact us within 48 hours of receiving the product to report the issue. We will assess the situation and process a refund or replacement as needed. In this case, you will not be charged the 20% restocking fee, and delivery charges will also be refunded if applicable.


Order Cancellations

You may cancel your order at any time before it is dispatched. Cancellations will receive a refund minus a 7% fee to cover non-refundable charges we incur. Once an order has been shipped, we cannot cancel or alter it.


Changed Your Mind?

If you change your mind about a product after it has been shipped or after opening it, we unfortunately cannot accept the return or issue a refund. We recommend trying our smallest size if you’re unsure about a fragrance or product before making a full commitment.


Exchanges

Due to the nature of our products (fragrance sampling), we do not offer exchanges. We recommend trying our smallest available size before purchasing full-size items. Please note that not liking the fragrance does not qualify for a return, refund, or exchange.


Incorrect Product

If you receive the wrong product, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order. We will arrange for the correct product to be sent and cover any additional delivery costs. We will also ensure that the wrong product is returned at no additional charge.


How to Return a Sample

To start a return, you can contact us at info@theperfumeapothecary.co.uk. For most returns, you can use Royal Mail's 1st or 2nd class service to send items back to us. However, we cannot be held responsible for goods that are not delivered, so we recommend using a recorded service for items valued at £20 or more. Please keep your proof of postage until you have received confirmation or a credit for your return.

Due to postal regulations classifying perfume as hazardous goods, you must inform the post office that the package contains perfume. They will then apply an ID8000 label to ensure the package complies with shipping regulations and reaches us safely.

We recommend returning items in proper packaging, such as a padded envelope or postal box, to prevent damage during transit. In most cases, you can reuse the packaging we sent your order in and reseal it with parcel tape.


Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.

Return Shipping Costs

Unless the return is due to a damaged, defective, or incorrect product, you will be responsible for the cost of return shipping. We recommend using a tracked or recorded service for returns to ensure the items reach us safely. We cannot be held responsible for goods that are not delivered.
